  • Lotic will drop another mix of new, unreleased original material on Janus Berlin in November. The mix is titled Agitations and will be Janus's fourth release. Janus, which is related to the defunct Berlin party of the same name, launched with a Lotic set full of original material last year, and has since hosted similarly formatted efforts from DJ Hvad and Bekelé Berhanu. There's not much information about Agitations online, other than a short sample streaming on Instagram. It drops on November 13th. In the meantime, find out more about Lotic in our Breaking Through feature from earlier this year. "Agitations was born out of the frustrations that come with touring, playing mainly festivals in Europe (which are largely populated by straight white men with narrow views on music), and feeling increasingly out of touch with club culture and with the music industry in general," Lotic says. "Each track was crafted as a mechanism to cope with the conflicted position of becoming increasingly successful in an otherwise alienating (and often unsafe) environment. Agitations is the rebuilding and reclamation of confidence. It’s a reminder of ambition, a reminder that there is great strength in having the outsider’s perspective." Janus Berlin will release Agitations on November 13th, 2015.
