PAN boss Bill Kouligas will join the Berlin producer for four of the November gigs.
M.E.S.H. will tour the US (with quick stops in Canada and Mexico) starting November 5th.
Though M.E.S.H., real name James Whipple, hails from the states, he's made a name for himself in Berlin as part of the Janus collective and as a mainstay of Bill Kouligas's PAN label. He released his debut album, Piteous Gate, via that imprint in July, a record Ian Maleney said contains "sounds [that] are epic in scale, laboriously layered and built up into towering, oscillating edifices," in his RA review. RA's Angus Finlayson spoke with Whipple at length about his CDJ-driven live show as part of our Machine Love series. Check out that feature here.
M.E.S.H. starts out in the Pacific Northwest with Portland and Seattle dates. The latter party, put on by Motor and Elevator, has Whipple booked alongside Beau Wanzer and Shawn O'Sullivan's Civil Duty project. On the seventh, he's at Vancouver venue Red Gate, after which he'll take a break, resuming on the 19th with a gig in Boston, followed by a Brooklyn party at Palisades with Kode9 on the 20th. The MoMA PS1 event on Sunday the 22nd has Whipple performing with visual artist Aleksandra Domanovic on a PAN-organized bill which includes Kouligas, Florian Hecker and Mark Leckey.
In San Francisco on the 27th, Kouligas and M.E.S.H. feature on day one of the Sure Thing SF one-year anniversary shows alongside Amsterdam's Interstellar Funk. The pair move on for two Threshold parties, one in LA and one in Phoenix. In LA, they're joined by M. Geddes Gengras, who will be performing a live set as Personable, his techno alias. A number of Ascetic House affiliates, including Jock Club and Encapsulate, fill out that bill. The lineup for the Phoenix edition hasn't been announced yet, but it's safe to assume it will look similar, as most of the Ascetic House artists hail from Arizona. M.E.S.H. finishes off the tour in Mexico City on December 5th.
Tickets to the Vancouver and San Francisco shows are available here on RA.
