  • Matrixxman will release Homesick Remixes via Ghostly International on January 29th. Homesick came out last summer and ranked number 18 on our 2015 top albums poll. For the remix EP, Matrixxman (real name Charlie Duff) remixed album track "Necronomicon" with frequent collaborator and Soo Wavey co-founder Vin Sol. Another studio mate of Duff's, Instance, takes on "Earth Like Conditions." The rest of the record features some Midwest heavy-hitters. First up is Buffalo techno producer Mike Parker, who tackles "Opium Den." The six-tracker also includes three remixes of "Augmented" from Larry Heard project Gherkin Jerks. Heard hasn't produced under this name since 1989. The two Gherkin Jerks 12-inches saw the Chicago house legend exploring a more stripped down, experimental sound and were reissued and anthologized in 2013. Listen to Mike Parker's remix of "Opium Den" below.
