  • The first names for MUTEK's 2016 edition in Montréal have been announced. The festival's 17th edition will run from June 1st through 5th. This year will see Resident Advisor again host a showcase at the Canadian experimental festival. Taking place at the Musée d'art contemporain de Montréal on Friday, June 3rd, we've lined up Burnt Friedman, Jlin (playing her first live set in Canada), Romare, Colleen and Sandro Perri's Off World project. Other international acts include Function, Atom™, Sonja Moonear, Dawn Of Midi, Francesco Tristano, Galcher Lustwerk, Powell, Terekke and Lakker. Collaborative performances will come from Franck Vigroux and Kurt D'haeseleer (Centaure), Paul Jebanasam and Tarik Barri (Continuum) and Dasha Rush and Stanislav Glasov (Dark Hearts Of Space). As always there's a strong Canadian contingent, which so far includes Local Artist, Orphx, Project Pablo and Tim Hecker. Read RA's review of MUTEK 2015 here.
