- Cosmic Chronic will release the Miami band's first LP next week.
Psychic Mirrors' first full-length, Nature Of Evil, is out next Tuesday, April 12th.
The six-piece Miami band got together in 2010, releasing a couple of records on their own Cosmic Chronic label, which is distributed by the DC-based People's Potential Unlimited, who also released their own Psychic Mirrors record in 2013. Now the group are back on Cosmic Chronic with Nature Of Evil, their first album, which was recorded over two years in their Miami studio.
Expanding on their "modern Caribbean sound," which is an "amalgam of boogie funk, yacht rock and wavy synth jazz" according to the label, Nature Of Evil presents 12 new tracks.
"Nature Of Evil is our debut album, and we wanted to make it like a musical," say the band, "like Grease but with synthesizers, and instead of a boy-girl narrative, the themes are more omnisexual." You can listen to first single "Island Girl" below, or watch a trailer for the LP here.
Psychic Mirrors will head out on a North American tour in support of the record, which will start with a West Coast leg later this month that includes stops in San Diego, San Francisco, Vancouver and a previously-reported PPU Video Party in LA.
