The French festival will host a series of free events across the two cities through June and July.
Les Siestes Electroniques has outlined the details of its 2016 events in Toulouse and Paris.
Running from June 23rd through the 26th, the Toulouse edition will go down to its usual spot, the downtown park Jardin Compans-Caffarelli. Like last year, organisers have chosen to not announce their lineup—"not to create some buzz but to start a deeper relationship with our audience," says festival founder Samuel Aubert. Last year's edition saw the likes of Sophie, Vessel, Holly Herndon, DJ Nigga Fox and Ghost Culture perform unannounced.
Kicking off the same day the Toulouse edition ends, on June 26th, the Paris edition will stick to its concept for the sixth consecutive year, inviting artists to source audio material from Musée du Quai Branly's ethnomusicology catalogue. String trio Vacarme and Roche Musique affiliate Kartell will play the first event, followed by French collective La Souterraine and UK vocalist Gaika on July 3rd. The next week, on the 10th, French bands Isaac Delusion and L'Impératrice will join forces, before London DJ Mr. Mitch takes over. Finally, folk act l'ocelle mare and Parisian techno producer Voiski will play the final session on July 17th.
All the events are free. For Paris, registration opens every Monday prior to the event on Musée Du Quai Branly's website.
