- The first EP from the project will come out via Short Trips in May.
ASC has unveiled a new project called Comit.
In a Facebook post, James Clements said that the new alias was "created specifically for '90s throwback IDM stuff." (Much of his work over the past six years, from techno to 170 BPM to ambient, has also been influenced by classic IDM). Comit will debut on Short Trips, a new electronica-focused label from the people behind drum & bass imprint Warm Communications. TRIP001 will come out on a transparent yellow 7-inch, along with a digital release (which comes with a digital track).
This Comit release follows in the footsteps of a double pack EP from Clements, as well as the third release in his ongoing, anonymously-credited Grey Area series. For more on Clements and his various projects, check out our interview from last year.
