  • Whistleblower Edward Snowden has made an appearance on Jean Michel Jarre's forthcoming album, Electronica Vol 2: The Heart Of Noise. According to The Guardian, the Frenchman asked for the newspaper's assistance in setting up the collaboration. Jarre says he "wrote a speedy techno track evoking the constant and hectic production of data and the obsessive quest for more information. I then linked the music with this mad hunt and chase in order to get hold of people like Edward Snowden." Jarre then sent a demo to Snowden, who contributes a spoken-word vocal, and subsequently travelled to Moscow to meet him, where he filmed Snowden for use in his stage show. You can find out more about the collaboration in a video compiled by The Guardian and listen to an excerpt via iTunes Snowden joins the likes of Jeff Mills, Julia Holter and The Orb on Jarre's next full-length, which is set for release on May 6th.
