  • Optimo Trax has announced its 20th release, an EP from Sparky. The label, run by JD Twitch, is a subsidiary of Glasgow's Optimo Music, and so far has put out records from the likes of Jasper James, Severed Heads, Alex Smoke and Muslimgauze. Its latest release, and its 20th, comes from a return guest: Dave Clark, AKA Glasgow's Sparky. A longtime veteran of the Scottish dance scene with only one release as Sparky dating back to the late '90s, he made a splash in 2013 when Numbers put out his "Portland" EP backed with some remixes from Ricardo Villalobos. Since then he's had two more releases on Numbers plus an appearance on Rubadub, as well as an EP on Optimo Trax under the name LUMA. Now he returns as Sparky, with a four-track 12-inch called Things Fall Apart. Check out clips below. Optimo Trax has also lined up two more releases. First there's the M.S.P. EP from Powerdance, the duo of Luke Solomon and Nick Maurer, which comes out on May 20th. You can check out clips here. Then, on June 24th, they'll release a new EP from Underspreche, an Italian duo who appeared on the Optimo Trax split with Muslimgauze earlier this year. (Clips here.)
