- The highly sought-after South African dance record is getting a fresh release before the summer.
Mashisa, a hard-to-find South African dance record by V.O., is getting an official reissue in the coming months.
Canadian label Invisible City Editions is behind the release. The record originally came out in 1990 on a label called Roi Music, and some original copies surfaced on Invisible City's webshop a few years back. It has been picked up on by the likes of Young Marco and Ben UFO, with the infectious "Mashisa (Dub Mix)" getting the most plays. Though there's no official release date yet, Invisible City's Gary Abugan says it'll hit the shops "sometime before summer."
Invisible City Editions, which is overseen by Abugan and Brandon Hocura, has been running since 2012, putting out records from the likes of Michael Boothman, Witch and Stephen Encinas.
