  • UK techno producer Truss is putting out a set of locked grooves through Poly Kicks. It's the fourth release to come through Poly Kicks since its relaunch late last year. Tessela, AKA Ed Russell, was the one mind behind the label when it started in 2013, but now his brother Truss, AKA Tom Russell, is helping to run things. This record is also the second in a series focused entirely on locked grooves, after a set from Haroon Mirza which came out back in February. The 50 grooves, divided between 3/4 patterns on the A-side and 4/4 on the B-side, were made with sounds sourced from a Vermona DRM1 drum synth, which were then sequenced and processed with an Elektron Octatrack. "Play any loop with any loop to unlock the polyrhythms inside," the label advises. Once again, it'll be a vinyl-only release. Watch the video below to see how the record was made.
