- The Australian group has unveiled a hotline number that plays a loop of a new song called "Subways."
After releasing a mysterious trailer earlier this week, The Avalanches appear to be ramping up to the release of a new single.
English music journalist Matthew Horton pointed out a poster for the Since They Left Us documentary depicts a hotline number "for preview screenings." When the number, 0800 098 8938, is called, a loop is played. Shazam identifies that one as an unreleased tune by The Avalanches called "Subways."
Enterprising music detectives have also identified another new song from the video trailer using Shazam—"The Wizord Of Iz" by Brainz appears at the 1:40 minute mark in the trailer. Reddit users point out a track called "Frankie Sinatra" by Brainz is on Noise 11's new release list for May 20th. Detroit rapper Danny Brown, who is featured in the trailer, said his collaboration The Avalanches is called "Frank Sinatra" in a 2012 interview.
