- The boost comes two years after Twitter declined to buy the streaming service.
Twitter has invested $70 million in SoundCloud.
Recode reported the news, adding that it was part of a round of fundraising that should total somewhere around the $100 million mark. The move comes two years after Twitter was considering buying the streaming service before ultimately deciding not to.
"Earlier this year we made an investment in SoundCloud through Twitter Ventures to help support some of our efforts with creators," Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey said. "They've been great partners of ours over the years and their community-supported approach mirrors ours in many ways."
