  • It's Not U It's Me have organized a day-and-night party at Toronto's The Power Plant on Saturday, July 9th. The event is in partnership with Toronto's Power Plant Contemporary Art Gallery, inspired by other art world events held by institutions like the ICA and MoMA PS1. The Power Plant will "transform into a space celebrating the diverse cultures and DIY community spirit of underground dance music with internationally renowned DJs, AV performance art, sculptural installations, and dance floors," according to promoters. The lineup is heavy on house, techno and electro, with a Detroit triple-header of Claude Young, DJ Stingray and Rick Wilhite. They've also brought in Discwoman's Volvox and Berlin resident Avalon Emerson, while It's Not U It's Me bosses Gingy and CL will head up the cast of locals. The party starts outdoors at 2 PM, and then moves inside for the evening at the three-level Harbourfront Centre Theatre. Check out a mix from Rick Wilhite to get in the mood.
