  • Software, an imprint started in 2011 and curated by Oneohtrix Point Never, is no longer. Over the past five years, the label has focused on emergent solo producers such as Thug Entrancer, Napolian, Slava and Autre Ne Veut. The imprint, which operated under the aegis of the Greenpoint, Brooklyn-based Mexican Summer group, also handled Colonial Patterns, the debut album from Huerco S, and Oneohtrix Point Never's 2011 Replica full-length. The news came via an opaque notice posted on the label's website. It simply says "Software Recording Co. 2011 - 8," along with a quote from Grateful Dead guitarist Bob Weir: "Obviously I believe in reincarnation and all of that kind of stuff—I don't think anyone's going to be surprised to hear that."
