  • Beyerdynamic has a new pair of headphones on the way. The DT 1990 PRO is an open-back design complementing the closed-back DT 1770 PRO. Both models are elaborations on the industry standard DT 990 and DT 770 that are found in amateur and professional electronic music studios alike. The DT 1990 PRO uses a dynamic transducer called Tesla, built from thin copper wires measuring half the width of a human hair. Given its open-back design, the DT 1990 PRO is intended for low-volume environments, particularly treated studios. Beyerdynamic describes the DT 1990 PRO's accurate frequency and spatial response as "an acoustic magnifying glass." The impedance measures 250 O, while the frequency response funs from five to 40,000 Hz. There are two types of cables, coiled and straight, which are both detachable. The DT 1990 PRO will launch at the IFA trade show in Berlin from the 2nd to the 7th of September. Beyerdynamic will release the DT 1990 PRO for 599 Euro in September, 2016.
