  • ’Balance Promote’ has announced that it is proud to present a new joint venture with ‘Marsha Vlasic (MVO)’ to be known as ‘The Collective’. The Collective will be dedicated to driving the careers and expanding the opportunities for live electronic acts and DJs in North America. Marsha Vlasic of MVO pioneered the way by organizing Moby’s Area 1 & Area 2 tours which successfully brought together audiences of Rock, Urban and Electronic music under one event. Today, MVO consist of some of the industry’s leading artists who include: Courtney Love, The Strokes, Lou Reed, Neil Young, and Moby among others. Since 1994, Balance Promote has broken new ground by introducing electronic artists to North America, including John Digweed, Sasha, Nick Warren, Dave Seaman, Sander Kleinenberg, Steve Lawler, Lee Burridge and Junkie XL. In 2002, Jimmy Van M of Balance Promote developed the first nationally promoted DJ-only ‘Delta Heavy’ tour. Featuring superstar DJs Sasha and John Digweed, this tour spanned across 35 cities to a total audience of 80,000+ people in North America. On the synergy of the partnership, Jimmy Van M says:
“Marsha has worked with some of the biggest live rock acts in the world. She now brings this wealth of experience to a range of global electronic music talent that wants and deserves to be seen by broader audiences in the US. By bringing together the best in the live touring arena with Balance Promote’s experience of building the touring careers of electronic music artists we are set for an exciting future. With this partnership we are committing to our vision of continuing to bring innovative, creative and financially successful touring solutions to our artists.”
The Collective’s New York team consists of: Marsha Vlasic, Jimmy Van M and Joel Zimmerman (formerly of AM Only). From the UK, Emily Smith will continue to provide business and marketing consultancy.
