  • The City Club residency will move to NuBlu in the East Village on October 14th. The club night, which tends towards the darker sounds of synth wave, EBM and electro, began as a monthly gig at Bossa Nova Civic Club. It's the brainchild of modular synth wiz (and LCD Soundsystem member) Gavin Russom, as well as Brooklyn scene staples Lauren Flax and Zachary Allen Starkey. Recently they added a fourth member, Bossa Nova regular Katie Rex, to their collective. For City Club's two-year anniversary party, the crew will head to the East Village dance spot NuBlu, where Russom will headline the night with a live set as Black Meteoric Star. The residency will stick around at NuBlu as a quarterly event from now on. There's also a new Black Meteoric Star album, The Xecond Xoming of Black Meteoric Star, due out soon on Nation.
