Sure the electronic music industry is getting more exposure all the time, and some of the bigger named artists are getting exponentially more famous... but would like you like to go to bed with your favourite DJ on your pillow? Sure this is a slightly different doll, but the guys at US based company Sweatyfrog (www.sweatyfrog.com) are planning on releasing a 'DJ doll' for the hugely loved and well respected Danny Howells.
So what are the details of this DJ figure? It's 7” tall and is to be a rather limited make, with only 1000 going into production and the price is estimated to be somewhere around the $60-$80 (USD) mark and it is it look something like the above picture. Michael Yi from Sweatyfrog said: " We love electronica, and being from NYC we'd go down to a lot of clubs and when we heard Danny spin in Arc, then called Vinyl, we were in love! That was it. We wanted to make a figure of him in the style of Hong Kong Vinyl because that's what really shows the vibe of the Music and the DJ's."
Sweatyfrog are planning to sell Danny Dolls at his various tours around the world + on their website and related sites like Global Underground, and with Danny's 24:7 compilation on GU hitting stores around the world in the next few weeks it makes sense.
