Legendary '90s techno duo Porter Ricks are returning with their first original productions in 17 years.
Active between 1996 and 1999, Andy Mellwig and Thomas Köner's Porter Ricks project put out some of the most iconic techno of all time. A string of singles on defunct labels Chain Reaction and Force Inc. Music Works—including Biokinetics, which was reissued in 2012—established their experimental, industrial-tinged techno sound during an especially fertile period for minimalist German electronic music—Basic Channel, Monolake and Vainqueur all emerged around the same time.
Porter Ricks offer up three tunes on this new outing, which will hit the shelves via Tresor on November 4th. Called Shadow Boat, the label says it's the first in a number of new productions from Mellwig and Köner due out before the end of the year.
