  • Joel Alter and Ena Cosovic have started a new label called True Rotary Recordings. True Rotary is "a natural development of Joel and Ena's musical and personal partnership," according to the press release, focusing on "[combining] raw techno with more seductive sounds." The first record, Seven Years Adrift, comes under Alter's Jor-El alias, which he recently revived with a release on Grafiti Tapes. The project reportedly shows off his "rawer side," compared to the more dubby and polished productions he releases under his given name and as part of Jonsson/Alter. Seven Years Adrift is meant to tell the story of a journey at sea, the A-side reflecting "the confidence and energy of a novel traveller," and the moodier B-side representing the "weather-beaten" sailor after years at sea. Future releases will come from Roberto Clementi and Q&A, which is a new project from Quarion and Alter. Watch the video for "Adrift."
