- The respected Argentinean techno spot is back in business after a four-year break.
Buenos Aires nightclub Cocoliche is reopening at the end of October.
Cocoliche, which closed in 2013, was a small, dark techno basement respected for its quality soundsystem and strong core of residents. It'll reopen with two parties happening on October 28th and 29th. (The lineups for both nights are still TBA.) "Cocoliche will return to its roots," says founder and resident DJ Adolfo Cortes, AKA Udolph. "Our booking programme will be unlike anything offered today in Argentina. At a time when the city is shouting loud for change and action, Cocoliche is reopening."
The club will be located in the same spot, Rivadavia 878, in the heart of Buenos Aires's city centre, known locally as Microcentro. It has a new soundsystem, and the walls have received a lick of paint. A new LED ceiling with an "organic design" has also been installed. The likes of Ben Klock, Oscar Mulero, Lucy, Function and Developer all played at Cocoliche in the past, while Jonas Kopp held down a residency.
