  • The first Tokyo Dance Music Event will begin on December 1st. The first conference of its kind in Japan will comprise workshops, panels, showcases and parties across three days around Tokyo's bustling Shibuya ward. According to TDME's organisers, "the goal is to foster collaboration and to strengthen relationships to build a strong, vibrant, and sustainable electronic music scene" in the world's second largest music market, after the US. Nina Kraviz heads up a list of speakers at the conference which also includes Sony Music's electronic music marketing head Toby Andrews, Block.fm CEO Taku Takahashi and the Mayor of Shibuya, Ken Hasebe. On the gig front, Boiler Room will be hosting a party at Hikarie Hall A on December 2nd with Seiho and Galcid performing live and Sekitova, Satoshi Otsuki and Wata Igarashi on the decks. On the same night, Toolroom will take over Womb with Umek, Prok & Fitch, Takkyu Ishino and Sunseaker. The TDME closing party will also be held at Womb, with Claptone and Thylacine wrapping things up on December 3rd. At least two more parties are yet to be announced.
