  • The Packard Plant Project is underway, according to a blog post written by the property developers. Real estate developer Fernando Palazuelo purchased the sprawling former factory site in 2013. He's planning a $350 million renovation to build out residential space as well as retail, offices, light industry, recreation and art, to be developed over the next ten to 15 years. Palazuelo then brought on Dimitri Hegemann, owner of the storied Berlin club Tresor, to oversee the building of a new nightclub within the complex. That's included in the fourth phase of the renovation proposal, which isn't slated to begin until after 2018. The plans for the Packard Plant also include a hostel, a spa and space for artists' studios. The company uploaded photos of the work underway to their blog today. "Work has begun and qualified teams are on the ground," they wrote.
