  • Jeff Mills has announced his next album, Planets. Planets is the latest from the prolific techno producer, who released his most recent LP, Free Fall Galaxy, last year. There's no tracklist yet, but we do know that the album will come out on his Axis Records label in March. A brief Facebook post from Mills explains that the LP is an "electronic classical" concept record about the nine planets of the solar system. He also shared a video teaser for the album. In addition, Mills also announced details of the CD version of his score for the 1902 film A Trip To The Moon, which was released on DVD and Blu-Ray last year. The original film ran only 16 minutes, but Mills has extended his compositions for the CD release, which is out on January 27th. 2017 also marks the 25th anniversary of Axis, which Mills is celebrating with a four-part radio show hosted by Moxie exploring the label's back catalogue. Listen to the first instalment here. The label also launched a new website this week. This June, Mills will hold a four-date residency at The Barbican in London, which includes the UK debut of his Planets show.
