Madteo will release a mixtape called Confessions Of A Permanent Alien Opium Beater in February.
Described as something between a "Dadaistic mixtape and surreal audio collage" interspersed with Madteo's own productions, Confessions Of A Permanent Alien Opium Beater comprises 80 minutes of music recored during a party at New York's Salvor Projects clothing store in early 2015. Taking in hip-hop, house and more experimental fare, the tape lands on February 9th via specialist cassette label Origin Peoples, which debuted with three releases in 2016.
"It's almost the whole thing," Madteo says about the set's upcoming tape version. "Enough to get an idea of the subterranean rumbles happening live that night in a 350-aquare-foot storefront on an extra frosty February day in Nu Yawk Shitty. Some Russians in attendance, and visages of the night I hadn't seen since running around the Beast Village in the mid-'90s."
