The Rush Hour boss recorded the tape with finds from a recent tour of Japan.
The cassette label kicked off in 2015 with a mix from Volcov, and has issued bespoke sets from diggers like Red Greg and Marcellus Pittman since. Antal, known for his Rush Hour store, label and distribution hub, as well as his DJ sets, focuses on Japan for ASE07-CASS. The label says the tape delves into ambient and classical as well as electronica and synth oddities from Japan.
"I had December and snowflakes in Japan on my mind," says Antal about the mix. "I used to love the Takeshi Kitano's movies for instance but also the soundtracks. So I have a weak spot for this Japanese nostalgia."
Antal will headline an Altered State Experiment night at Berlin club OHM on the eve of the tape's release, February 4th. Check out details on that in the event listing below.
