  • Dreadbox has a new synth on the way. The Greek manufacturer, known for desktop analogue synths like the Erebus, recently revealed a new model, called Abyss, at the NAMM tech conference in Anaheim. It now has a retail price of €1099 and a detailed run down of its specs. Matrixsynth reports that it is a four-voice analogue design capable of working in four modes, namely polyphony, unison, multi-channel and chords. There's also a VCO and sub-oscillator per voice whose waveshape can be modulated, plus two LFOs, a 24dB/oct four-pole resonant low pass filter with a four-stage envelope and a VCA with a drive circuit. A bucket brigade delay called Reflector can generate chorus and flange effects, while the delay from Erebus is also on board in addition to a phaser circuit. All effects can be modulated with LFOs and external CV control, which can also be routed to the filter.
The Dreadbox Abyss will retail for €1099 and is expected to be released in April 2017.
