  • Sankeys has plans to open new branches in a number of UK cities in 2017, including Birmingham, Newcastle and Stoke. The clubbing brand, which currently has outposts in Ibiza, Tokyo and Romford, announced in January that it had partnered with The NTIA for #Doyouwannasankeys, a campaign to let the public decide the location of new venues. A month later, Sankeys has confirmed Birmingham, Newcastle, Stoke and Kent as the frontrunners. The Birmingham branch, situated at 119 Milk Street in Digbeth, will open on March 11th with Tania Vulcano and Darius Syrossian, while the Kent venue opens on April 1st. (Location and lineup are still TBA.) The Newcastle and Stoke clubs are still in the planning phase. Sankeys has also revealed that it will host a series of events in Torquay, a seaside town in Devon. The first of these will go down at The Foundry (formerly Venue) on Sunday, April 16th. #Doyouwannasankeys launched in the wake of the sudden closure of Sankeys' former flagship venue in Manchester, which was forced to shut its doors after the building that housed it, Beehive Mill, was sold to property developers.
