- The LP, out in May, is the Dutch label's 50th release.
Robert Hood's Paradygm Shift album is coming out on Dekmantel this May.
At the start of last year the Dutch label revealed its plans to release a batch of music fro the Detroit techno artist. The first EP landed back in February of 2016, with the second following last summer. Dekmantel says this album is the culmination of the project. It's also the label's 50th release.
"The idea behind it is just a shift in our focus," says Hood of the album's concept. "We can become complacent; we are so comfortable with our surroundings. I think this is the time for electronic music to find a new mindset. I felt it was necessary to reiterate as an electronic music artist who is bringing minimalism back in the forefront, and not to get lost in the melody. I want to get back to the simple repetitive programming that I'm known for, and to me it was returning to that and shifting the listeners' focus."
