Surgeon's next 12-inch, Convenience Trap, is due out on his Dynamic Tension label in April.
The four-tracker is informed by the techno artist's live performances, which are improvised using only hardware machines. It's a follow-up to last year's Bland Ambition EP, which landed on Dynamic Tension in October, as well as Electronic Recordings From Maui Jungle Vol. 2, an album of modular synth music that Editions Mego released at the end of 2016. There was also a collaborative release with the experimental band Gnod. Convenience Trap is Surgeon's first release of 2017.
