  • The only album from New Zealand dub techno act Micronism, AKA Denver McCarthy, will be pressed onto vinyl almost two decades after its original release. Inside A Quiet Mind came out on the Aukland-based Kog Transmissions in 1998. One of only two Micronism releases, it remained obscure until the recent Delsin reissue of Steps To Recovery, an EP originally released in 1999. Now, New Zealand label Loop Recordings is reissuing Inside A Quiet Mind, which sees McCarthy explore minimalist dub techno and ambient across 11 remastered tracks. It's out on July 21st. "You will be tinkering away with a sound, a chord, a rhythm, and then something will catch your attention, something that sounds good to you," McCarthy says about his production style. "From there, it's just a matter of adding more elements until you get what occurs to you as a finished piece. I have recorded so many songs, but only a small percentage I actually like and stand the test of time." Tracklist 01. Constructing Space 02. First Reflections 03. Rainbow City 04. Eventide 05. Twinkle Twinkle Little Stars 06. An Unfulfilled Wish 05:41 07. Restless Address 08. Engaging Causeless Mercy 09. Dissolution 10. Contemplating A Quiet Mind 11. Steps To Recovery Loop will release Inside A Quiet Mind on July 21st, 2017.
