  • MUTEK Montreal has announced more names for its 2017 edition, set to go down August 22nd through the 27th. The long-running festival announced its move from June to August earlier this spring, along with a first batch of names that included Zip, Daphni and Aurora Halal. Now they've announced a handful more, like Max Cooper, Polar Inertia, Fred P and the duo of Surgeon and Lady Starlight. Robert Henke, who was already billed under his name, will also perform a set as Monolake, while experimental acts like Helm, Deathprod and Mark Fell's Sensate are other new additions. Mexico City's N.A.A.F.I. is well-represented, with Lao, Omaar, Mexican Jihad and Oly billed. The festival has also announced a themed program called Inter_Connect dedicated to highlighting some of the world's cultural capitals, including London, Mexico City, Barcelona and Berlin. Inter_Connect will group these artists into showcases based on their country of residence, with a different city each day.
