Khotin has released a new album called New Tab.
The LP follows the Vancouver resident's debut under the alias Waterpark, along with a 7-inch on Common Edit in collaboration with Dane, earlier this year. New Tab sees Khotin experimenting with more ambient and downtempo material, and it's his second full-length after 2014's Hello World.
"New Tab is kind of my response to feeling a bit tired of dance music and DJing in the summer of 2016," he writes. "To be clear, I like dance music and I don't want to seem like I'm just jumping on the ambient train. But the truth is making this stuff really reminded me of the music I used to make when I was in high school, and it was a seriously healing experience. I put a lot of emotion into this and I hope people can recognize that."
It's out now on cassette and digital via Bandcamp, with a vinyl pressing to come later this year through Pacific Rhythm.
