- His first full-length since 2014 will land in September.
Lee Gamble will debut on Hyperdub with Mnestic Pressure, his fifth LP and first in three years.
The album represents a noticeable change in the UK producer's sound, Hyperdub says, and sees him grappling with new conceptual material. Gamble explained the shift himself, saying that on two of the three albums he's released through PAN, 2012's Diversions 1994-1996 and 2014's KOCH, "My music felt like I was dealing with signals from elsewhere—signals from the unconscious, sub-aqua, hallucinated, dreamt." Mnestic Pressure, by contrast, "Feels like their decoded offspring, a terra interpretation."
Gamble designed a new live show for the record that uses purpose-built generative software. He also has a new website that randomly generates "endless collisions" of audio from the album with archives of imagery and video.
Listen to the album cut "Istian."
