  • A new vinyl pressing plant is opening in Melbourne, Australia. Program Records will open in early 2018, according to the pressing plant's website. 140g and 180g 12-inches will be available to press in large or small quantities when the plant opens, while 7- and 10-inch formats will be introduced later in 2018. The presses themselves are manufactured by Viryl Technologies, a Canadian company using software to streamline the cutting process. Using the company's Viryltech WarmTone, Program Records is promising consistent quality presses and quick turnaround times. Cutting and plating will be handled in-house. Program Records is the second pressing plant to be announced in Australia this year following plans for a new facility in Sydney's Inner West.
