  • Transport For London (TFL) has today informed Uber it will not renew its license to operate in London. In a statement released this morning, Transport For London said the private-hire company would not be issued a fresh licence after its current one expires on September 30th. "TFL has concluded that Uber London Limited is not fit and proper to hold a private hire operator licence," the statement continues. TFL says Uber's "approach and conduct demonstrate a lack of corporate responsibility in relation to a number of issues which have potential public safety and security implications." Uber has 21 days to appeal the decision. Since arriving in London, Uber has become a popular service for clubbers in the city.
