  • Shawn Rudiman will release his latest album, Timespan, via Pittsburgh Tracks on November 24th. The label describes Timespan as "a carefully curated journey through almost 20 years of Shawn's music productions… the majority of which have not been heard outside of his studio." Rudiman has developed an underground reputation for his improvised live sets and sprawling hardware studio, but his releases have come haltingly until the past couple years, when he launched Synthdrome Vault Archives—the first volume in the series ended up in our monthly best music feature. "All of these tracks are simply snapshots of my life moments," said Rudiman. "They go from base-level warehouse to more cerebral sophistication. So, take them as such. Timespan sums it up well. Some songs are almost two decades old, some are fresh. It's a paragraph written with words that have years between them. Somehow they still all sort of make sense together."
