The TG One comes with two sample banks of sounds from original Throbbing Gristle recording sessions.
TG One is based on Tip Top's One module, a compact, SD card-based sampler for Eurorack modular systems. Working with Throbbing Gristle's Chris Carter, Tip Top came up with two new modes that aim to recreate the chaotic sounds of the seminal UK industrial act. The first new mode selects a sample at random every time the module receives a trigger, while the second randomly scans around a looping sample with each new trigger message. The module comes with two sample cards containing sounds taken from Carter's archive of Throbbing Gristle recording sessions. The first contains 128 one-shot percussive sounds; the other contains 128 longer sounds, like loops, pads and textures.
Listen to a live set from Chris Carter using the new module and sample cards.
The Tip Top Audio TG One is available now for around €225.
