It features three solo synthesizer compositions in addition to the title track.
The French producer's first solo release in over a year is his "most uncompromising work to date," according to the press notes. All three "Directory" tracks from Boomerang, which comes out on his label Sapiens, were used in Philippe Parreno's recent exhibit at the Tate Modern in London. Nicolas Becker, a French foley artist who worked on movies like Gravity and Arrival, coordinated all of the sound design for that show.
The title track features live drums from Narada West, while the remaining three tunes are solo performances meant to pay homage to "the minimalist French synth pioneers of yesteryear."
