  • Underground Resistance associate Mark Flash has defended the crew's decision to partner with Carhartt on a new clothing line. The fashion collection was announced last week to a varied reception, which included many fans disappointed in the usually anti-commercial collective. Though Carhartt itself is based in Michigan, the UR line is part of the limited-edition Carhartt WIP brand, which is headquartered and designed in Germany. In his post, Flash points out that the original fashion label's clothes are often considered work clothes in Detroit, and that he himself has been wearing them since the 1980s. He also points out the warmth and durability of their garments. "I can almost guarantee that Mike [Banks] is wearing Carhartt right now at this moment," he writes. "Some of you muthafukkas don't know that Mike is a mechanic and still does construction on a daily basis." Check out photos of the collection here.
