  • A Sagittariun's Elastic Dreams label is giving The Sabres Of Paradise's classic 1993 track "Lick Wid Nit Wit" its first-ever vinyl release this March. The Sabres Of Paradise was a leftfield dub, ambient and techno group made up of Andrew Weatherall, Gary Burns and Jagz Kooner that was active in the '90s with original releases (including three Warp-issued albums) and remixes for the likes of Björk, New Order and The Chemical Brothers. "Lick Wid Nit Wit," which appeared on the Volume Seven compilation CD, has never been issued on wax until now. A Sagittariun is making it happen, having licensed it for a release on both 12-inch vinyl and digital formats. It also includes two remixes from the label boss. "I first heard 'Lick Wid Nit Wit' on Weatherall's 1993 Radio 1 Essential Mix, and it's literally been ingrained into my musical DNA since then," A Sagittariun says, adding that "the task of revisiting, remixing and releasing this track has been a long, complex but ultimately satisfying one, and it feels like a public service has been done in bringing this mysterious, chugging, dubwise Sabres production back into the public domain." Listen to samples of the original tune and the two remixes.
