  • A new 3,000-capacity space for bands and live acts is opening within London venue Printworks in March. The as-yet-unnamed space, which is being run by events and festivals company Broadwick Live, will sit alongside the venue's two club-focussed rooms, Press Halls and Charge Bay. It'll be open during the week and on Fridays, when it'll alternate between live shows and electronic nights. There will also be a programme of arts and cultural events curated by Southbank Centre's Tamsin Ace. British art rock outfit Django Django will headline the opening on Friday, March 23rd. For the sound and lighting design, Broadwick Live is collaborating with an external team that has experience working with top venues. "Production-wise, this puts us at the forefront in terms of UK music venues," Broadwick Live's managing director Bradley Thompson told Time Out. "We want to position ourselves as another key venue for London that can hold 3,000 people. I feel that the city is lacking at that kind of level—if you go to certain venues, the diaries are quite full and bands don't necessarily get the capacities they want." The third season of events at Printworks is launching on Saturday, March 3rd, with a party run by The Hydra.
