  • MikeQ has provided the soundtrack for the first-ever major exhibition dedicated to the ballroom scene, on show now at Madrid's Centro de Arte 2 de Mayo (AKA CA2M). "Elements Of Vogue: A Case Study In Radical Performance," which opened in November and will close in early May, "explores ways in which minorities use their bodies to produce dissenting forms of beauty, subjectivity and desire," according to a guide for the project. Curated by Sabel Gavaldón and Manuel Segade, it features works from dozens of artists and intellectuals, including Lorraine O'Grady, Adrian Piper, Cornel West, Andy Warhol and Terre Thaemlitz. A mixtape from MikeQ, widely considered ballroom's most influential DJ, accompanies the exhibition. A number of related events are also in the works, including performances and workshops, on the way to a voguing ball on May 6th, the last day of the exhibition. Listen to MikeQ's "Elements Of Vogue" soundtrack.
