- Outrage features tunes from two hard-to-find records that van der Vleuten put out on an R&S offshoot in 1992.
R&S Records is putting out a compilation next month highlighting influential Dutch producer Maarten van der Vleuten's Integrity project.
Maarten van der Vleuten Presents Integrity: Outrage is essentially a remastered reissue of two 1992 records, The Way I Live and Living In A Fantasy, which came out through the short-lived R&S offshoot Outrage Recordings. Both of those records are now highly sought-after. Two of the tracks, "Nightshift" and "Intens," are collaborations with another Dutch mainstay, Aardvarck.
R&S describes Integrity as having moved "in the opposite direction of the contemporary rave and gabber scenes. While techno became faster and shifted to a more aggressive sound, van der Vleuten focused more on composing and arranging over danceability."
van der Vleuten has been making a wide range of electronic music since the '80s, using both his given name and more than 20 other aliases. Last month, R&S sub-label Apollo Records put out a digital reissue of his 1993 ambient album Moonwater, which he produced as In-Existence.
