  • American filmmaker Paul Clipson has died. A GoFundMe page set up in Clipson's name said that the San Francisco artist "passed unexpectedly from this world" on Saturday, February 3rd. Clipson was well-regarded for his Super 8mm and 16mm short films, many of which were soundtracked by artists like Jefre Cantu-Ledesma, Lawrence English, Tarentel and Barn Owl. He also collaborated with musicians like Grouper, Sarah Davachi, Felicia Atkinson, Rene Hell and Machinefabriek to produce visuals for live performances, in addition to making installation art and charcoal drawings. You can view Clipson's body of work here, and donate to the GoFundMe page here. Watch "Cruel Optimism," made with Lawrence English.
