  • Chancha Vía Circuito, AKA Pedro Canale, is releasing a new album this summer. The Argentinian artist, known for fusing cumbia and electronic music, will release his fourth full-length, titled Bienaventuranza, on June 8th. The LP includes several collaborations, mostly with digital cumbia artists. They include Mateo Kingman, Kaleema—with whom Canale worked on her 2017 album, Nómada—and Lido Pimienta. The Colombian dancehall artist Manu Ranks and Miriam García, a vocalist who's worked with Canale in the past, also feature. Heidi Lewandowski, AKA Kaleema, and Federico Estévez (both pictured), perform on the album on vocals, flute and percussion, too. Canale's RA-recommended album, Río Arriba, released in 2010, was described by Todd Burns as "aural magical realism." Listen to "Ilaló."
