Theo Parrish has released the recording from the last night of his residency at Plastic People.
The Sound Signature label boss began playing at the Shoreditch club regularly about ten years ago, establishing a now-legendary residency where he played all night. He's just announced Thanks To Plastic, a three-disc live recording of the last set he ever played in the venue, which closed in 2015.
It's available now on CD format, and follows his collaborative EP Gentrified Love Part 4, which came out on Sound Signature in April.
Parrish's residency is remembered as a place where his eclectic, no-holds-barred DJ style was given room to breathe over the course of a six-hour night. "Theo playing really informed how I played," Floating Points said in a Guardian interview about Plastic People, "the ability to consider jazz, soul, disco and techno as a lineage that’s OK to mix together."
