Elektron is beta-testing the long-awaited update of Overbridge.
Overbridge 2.0, which integrates Elektron devices with your DAW, was scheduled to be released in early 2017. Since then, the update has been subject to delays, leaving new products like the Digitakt and Digitone unable to use the latest version of the software—Elektron went so far as to describe it as "the most complex project we have ever undertaken." The beta is closed but you can apply to become a tester here.
Overbridge 2.0 turns your Elektron machines into a USB soundcard that can stream multiple channels of audio directly out of the device into your DAW. Dedicated plug-ins are on hand for controlling the hardware from your computer, and you can also save and tie instrument settings to a given project. Audio from your computer can be processed inside the hardware, allowing you to shape sounds with Elektron's filters and effects.
Elektron has also announced several OS updates for instruments like the Analog range, Digitone and Digitakt, providing bug fixes and paving the way for the roll out of Overbridge 2.0. However, current Overbridge users would probably want to refrain from updating immediately, as the update isn't compatible with Overbridge 1.15.
