  • Richard Devine's new album comes out in November via Timesig. He recorded Sort\Lave between 2016 and '17 using a Eurorack modular system and two Nord G2 synths. "I wanted it to sound very different from my previous works, which had been more cold, digital, clinical even, and had all been made using computers," he explains. "The aim here was the complete opposite, to create something that felt very organic, detailed, spacious, big and warm and just as importantly, a record that you could put on and play all the way through that flowed in a seamless way.” It's Devine's first album since 2012's Risp, and it comes through Venetian Snares' Timesig label. Stylistically, it ranges from "abrasive percussive experiments" to "radiant ambience," the label says. Listen to "Opaque Ke."
